FOR BOYS
7 year old Toby is an ordinary boy who has a problem using the toilet. He can’t poo in other people’s homes, or in the boys toilets at school or in public toilets, so he tries to keep his poo inside himself instead. He also does this at home when he doesn’t want to stop playing and refuses to listen to his body.
Because he tries to avoid going to the toilet, Toby often poos his pants, which he finds really embarrassing. He also wets himself sometimes when his poo pushes on his bladder. At school he wears pull-ups and his Mum has to come in to change him when he soils himself in the classroom. And he nearly always needs changing on days out, which makes him feel like he is a toddler.
Can his Mum and Dad, his big sister, his best friend and his new babysitter persuade Toby to use the toilet every time he needs to poo? Can he find the courage to poo in the school toilets? Or will he always have accidents in his pants and be known by his classmates as the Stinky Kid?
This story has been specially written for boys who withhold their poo and soil their underwear. It is recommended for sufferers of encopresis aged from around 5 to 8 years, although boys at the lower end of this age range will probably need to have the book read to them.
Posters between the chapters seek to reinforce the messages of the book and encourage good bladder and bowel health and bathroom hygiene.
Help! I Poo My Pants is available in both a British Edition and an American Edition (titled Help! I Poop My Pants). The story is identical in both versions, but the vocabulary, spelling and phrasing of the American Edition has been adapted to make it familiar to North American readers.
